Connections

Connections is a one-on-one mentoring program that works with middle school students (grades 7-8) from local Spokane Public Schools. Connections focuses on improving the academic and social success of youth by pairing Gonzaga students in relationships with youth. The program helps youth create a vision for the future and a plan for how that vision can become a reality. Mentors and mentees participate in a variety of academic, recreational, and social activities. All Connections mentors attend weekly programming Wednesday from 3:30-5:30pm, visit their mentee once a week at school, and participate in quarterly Saturday activities.

Eye To Eye

Eye to Eye is the only national movement that pairs kids with learning disabilities (LD) and attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) disorder with similarly labeled college students. By utilizing an art-based curriculum, the mentors in our programs help kids with LD and ADHD build self-esteem as they embrace their abilities as different thinkers. Eye to Eye promotes self-advocacy and continues to strike out stigma so that those who are labeled can become their own best advocates. Eye to Eye mentors attend weekly programming from 3:30-5:00pm on Mondays.
