Please join us: Math Adoption Community Nights

Along with 44 other states, Washington recently adopted mathematics learning standards known as the Common Core State Standards. This change necessitated an update in curriculum resources for our third through eighth grade students. A committee of teachers, parents, administrators, and community members has begun reviewing resources and will recommend those that best support the Common Core Standards.

The purpose of this survey is to gather input from parents, school staff, community members, and current and former students regarding math curriculum in Spokane Public Schools. Feedback will be shared with the community and also given to the mathematics curriculum adoption committee, the superintendent’s Leadership Team, and the school board for consideration.

Community members are also invited to attend a Math Community Night to learn more:
Tuesday, Jan. 15, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the Ferris High School library
Thursday, Jan. 17, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the Ridgeview Elementary School multipurpose room
Tuesday, Jan. 22, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the North Central High School library
Tuesday, Jan. 29, 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the Sacajawea Middle School library
