Running Start is a program where students take college level courses on a college campus to apply towards high school graduation requirements, in addition to completion of an Associates Degree or General Education Core Requirements in pursuit of a Bachelors Degree. Shadle Park High School partners with the following Running Start programs

After attending the Information Night, students new to Running Start are required to attend the SPHS Running Start and Expectations Meeting which will be held virtually on Wednesday, February 17th from 12:30-1:30pm.

For CURRENT Running Start Students...
Winter 2020/2021 Important Deadlines:
January 4 Winter Quarter classes begin
January 15 Last day to drop classes to prevent “W” being posted on transcripts
February 22 Last day to drop classes - Last day for “W” grade
March 25 Last day of Winter Quarter
March 30 Winter Quarter grades available to students in their ctcLink student center (typically posted to SharePoint 2 days following)
Spring 2021 Important Deadlines:
February 16: Current students with 30+ credits
February 18: Current students with 0-29 credits
February 22: New student registration
- The application deadline for Spring 2021 is March 15.
- Spring Quarter begins April 5. Courses will once again be offered in multiple modalities, including in-person options.
- Class formats: Both SFCC and SCC are offering three different course modalities. Students can find their course modality clearly listed under course details when enrolling for classes. Students may sign up for multiple modalities, depending on their schedule.
- Online: These courses meet fully online. They are typically flexible but may have structured virtual meeting times for students to interact with the professor and classmates. Students should check with their instructor to determine course meeting requirements prior to the start of the quarter.
- Hybrid*: These courses meet in-person 2-3 days per week and are held online the remaining days. Students are expected to be on campus during the days and times listed on the course schedule.
- In-Person*: These courses will meet fully in-person on campus during the days and times listed on the course schedule.
* Courses with an in-person component will be responsive to health guidelines and directives. They may move online if required, but plan to remain in-person as long as it is allowed.
