Miss Sara Carroll
Miss Carroll earned her Bachelor of Music Education with a Choral Specialization from Central Washington University in 2012, graduating with honors. In college, Miss Carroll was heavily involved in the Washington Chapter (WMEA) of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), as well as the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and the National Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS), serving each organization in various student chapter club officer positions. She performed in many of Central's vocal ensembles, performed with Valley Musical Theater Company in Ellensburg, and sang as a chorister with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra in the Yakima Symphony Chorus and the Mid Columbia Symphony Orchestra in the Mid Columbia Mastersingers. Miss Carroll worked as the Advising & Recruiting Specialist for the Department of Music at Central Washington University for four years, during which time she simulaneously pursued her Master of Science in Public Administration, graduating with honors in 2017. Later that year, she moved to Spokane after accepting the position of Director of Choral Activities at Rogers High School. After two years at Rogers, she accepted the position of Diretcor of Choral Activities here at Lewis & Clark High School. Miss Carroll continues to pursue her own love of sinigng as an artist as well as a teacher. Since moving to Spokane, she has sang in Le Donne Women's Choir, the Spokane Symphony Chorale, and on several projects with the Inland Northwest Opera. She also currently sings with Kantorei Spokane under the direction of Dr. Timothy Westerhaus at Gonzaga University. This past winter, Miss Carroll traveled to NYC with her alumni choir and college director to sing with composer Ola Gjeilo at Carnagie Hall. Miss Carroll is an active member of NAfME/WMEA and ACDA, and serves as the Communications Specialist on the Washington ACDA Board. She was recently accepted into a doctoral program at Liberty University and will be pursuing her PhD in Education: Organizational Leadership over the next several years. Miss Carroll is so excited to be working at LCHS, and to be representing the Tiger Choir Program!
