Salk Middle School Replacement

  • The Salk Middle School replacement project is just one of the many projects that Spokane voters approved by passing the 2015 school bond. The $205 million district-wide plan includes renovations, modernizations or replacement of four elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools; safety, security and technology updates for the entire school district; and building, field or playground improvements for all schools.   • Location: Salk Middle School opened in 1961 in northwest Spokane at 6411 North Alberta, on the corner of Alberta and Francis. The school serves approximately 730 students in grades 7 and 8 who go to Shadle Park or North Central for grades 9 - 12. 
    Current Facility Size (Approx Square Feet): 142,861
    Current Site Size (Approx Acres): 18.31
    Scope of Project: The Salk Middle School Replacement project consists of a new 97,000 square foot, two story structure and demolition of the existing Salk Middle School. The project also includes site work consisting of the replacement of existing softball and baseball fields and pedestrian circulation on site including approximately 115 new parking stalls.
