Testing: SAT, PSAT, ACT

  • College Admission Testing

    SAT (Scholastic Apptitude Test)

The SAT is designed to assess your academic readiness for college. These exams provide a path to opportunities, financial support and scholarships, in a way that's fair to all students. The SAT keeps pace with what colleges are looking for today, measuring the skills required for success in the 21st century. For more information go to http://www.collegeboard.com/

    PSAT (Practice SAT)

Results from the PSAT are powerful tools for promoting college readiness and college planning, especially when explained to students and parents and shared with colleagues.

    ACT (American College Test)

The ACT is an achievement test, measuring what a student has learned in school. The ACT has up to five components:  English, Math, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing test.  For more information go to http://www.actstudent.org/index.html

    Community Colleges Requirements

Community colleges do not require an ACT or an SAT. We still suggest that students take the SAT - the score can be used for scholarships and/or for Math and English placement. Please check with your chosen community college for their placement testing requirements.
