Reopening Update 2021

The SPS Reopening Plan is based on our commitment to follow the guidance and direction of public health officials. Our intent is to return to in-person instruction as soon as possible when it is determined safe.
Reopening Phase 1: Grades 3 & 4
Class sizes will be approximately 15-20 students.

Reopening Phase 2: Grades 5 & 6
Tentative dates pending key considerations
- Grade 5: Start hybrid* model on Feb. 17
- Grade 6: Start hybrid* model on Feb. 17
*Half the students attend school in person, and half do distance learning, on an alternating schedule.
Reopening Phase 3: Middle & High School
Tentative dates pending key considerations
- Middle School: Start hybrid* model on March 1
- High School: Start hybrid* model on March 1
*Half the students attend school in person, and half do distance learning, on an alternating schedule.

Factors to be considered prior to implementing each phase:
- School transmission trends
- County case trends
- Fidelity of cleaning standards
- Substitute capacity
- Compliance with OSPI and DOH safety regulations
- Compliance with Labor and Industry regulations
- School-based testing program
- Vaccine distribution status
Learning model and dates will be adjusted pending phasing considerations
