- 2009 Bond Overview
Minor Projects 2009-15
-
An essential piece of the 2003 bond provided about $24 million for smaller building improvement projects. These included things like upgrading and maintaining facilities throughout the school district to meet changing program needs, increase safety and prolong building life.
These yearly projects were the result of a collaborative process. A comprehensive list was created by staff and parents, district facility, maintenance, operations and safety personnel, and then prioritized annually by the Facilities department. The aim is to keep buildings well maintained until major renovations take place, saving money in the long run. From new fire alarm systems to wood-chip replacement on a playground to provide a safer play area, Spokane Public Schools is using taxpayer dollars wisely to create the best and safest learning environments for our students.
