Counseling Corner

  • Hi, my name is Dana Santos and this school year will be my first year at Bemiss Elementary. I’m really excited to join the Bulldog Team! I’ve been a school counselor for 17 years at the middle school level and am really excited to be working with and getting to know all of our elementary students and their families.

I’m a San Francisco native, raised in both SF (Go Niners!) & in the Northwest where I grew up North of Spokane in the beautiful little town of Loon Lake. I got my undergraduate degree from Cal State Hayward and received my masters in school counseling from EWU. Go Eagles! I love being a school counselor and the various responsibilities, experiences and relationships that come with the job. I am an advocate for my students, will focus on building relationships with my students and their families and will collaborate with our teachers and staff to best serve our students. One of my goals as a school counselor has always been to help create a safe and fun school culture and environment where students can learn, grow and develop the skills they need to be successful not only academically, but socially and emotionally. I’m looking forward to the upcoming school year and know that my door is always open!
