Counseling Support

  • My name is Nikkita Cochran, I am the School Counselor at Browne Elementary. I have been a School Counselor since 2017. I am an Eastern Washington University graduate. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Developmental Psychology. My Masters is in Counselor Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. I am very passionate about working with students. Becoming a School Counselor has been my dream career since I was in the 6th grade. I believe students are our future so the best thing we can do is listen to them and support them in any way possible. I love being a school counselor because every day is different. I also love that I get to build relationships, help, and support so many people within a day.

My wonderful husband and I are raising a beautiful redheaded little girl and a German shepherd whom we love deeply. We love spending time together by listening to music, being silly/making each other laugh, going on hikes, and watching football. GO SEAHAWKS!

My school counseling program aims to advocate and collaborate with students, staff, families, and the community about how to best support students regarding academics, social emotional learning, and careers. I do this by coming into the classroom for large group instruction, running small groups, meeting with individual students and responsive services.
