Stories

Student Ellie

Veterinary Assistant Ellie

After completing her certifications in the Veterinary Assisting course at NEWTech, Ellie is currently studying animal science with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine concentration at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and working in a clinic as a veterinary assistant. She is planning to study abroad in Belize during the summer of 2023 for the “UTK Small Animal Veterinary Experience in Belize” that is offered through her university. We wish her luck in all her future endeavors and am so happy to be a part of her journey!

"NEWTech gave me my start in this field and has helped me tremendously in my courses. I have kept all of my notes and resources I took in Kim’s class and reference them often. I don’t know where my future will go from here but I know I would not be on this path without NEWTech!"

Max's Internship

After completing two years at NEWTech, Max got an internship with a film company by the name of Mortimore Productions in Spokane. After that he was the resident videographer for a local dance company, Jubilee Dance, capturing their performances with two other NEWTech graduates. While doing that, Max produced several social media shorts for a film company in Seattle called Fueled Creative. He later applied to Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and is currently studying with people who have shown films at Sundance and won awards internationally.

A short film of Max's from last semester called Night Terrors was selected for a special mention in an online film festival and is backed by IMDB.

Student Alyssa

Veterinary Assistant Alyssa

Alyssa is a recent graduate of our Veterinary Assisting program and is currently working in a veterinary clinic as an assistant.

"NEWTech helped me get where I am at by providing me the clinical skills and education that is nessicary to work in this field. They teach you anatomy, pharmacology, how to communicate and work under a fast pace setting and more. It's a big field with so much to explore and it was extremely helpful to already have a good level of education and skill before I started [my job]. I do not believe I would be where I am at today without them. I will be forever grateful."
