APPLE at Franklin (K-5)

The APPLE (Alternative Parent Participation Learning Experience) program is open to all children in grades K-5 who live within SPS boundaries. APPLE families commit to volunteer 90 hours per year in a variety of ways. Both APPLE locations, at Garfield and Franklin, include multi-age classrooms. Families wishing to join APPLE must complete the online application to be part of the attendance lottery and attend a Parent Information Session.

Bryant/TEC (K-12)

The Enrichment Cooperative (TEC) is Spokane Public Schools' Parent Partnership Program. It provides both core and enrichment curriculum for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Students in grades 9-12 can access the Summit Platform on campus five days a week to seek credit for high school graduation. Additionally, high school students can access a range of classes for credit toward a high school diploma, including SVL, Running Start or NEWTECH Skill Center. The Enrichment Cooperative offers over 200 courses on the Bryant Campus to support and enrich student learning and aligns with Washington State Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) requirements.

The Institute for Science and Technology at North Central is a rich and engaging community where students experience highly personalized and cutting-edge learning in small but diverse cohorts of no more than 60 students per grade level, in a facility that leads the state in providing research opportunities for student scientists.

MAP (6-12)

MAP (Multi-Agency Partnership) is a referral only, mental health driven school. Our students exhibit mental illness which impedes their ability to succeed in a traditional middle and high school setting (6th-12th grade). Insight-oriented talk therapy is an integral part of the school week. Map is not a behavior, developmentally impaired, Autism spectrum, or credit retrieval program.

NEWTech Prep (11-12)

NEWTech provides high-skilled, preparatory career technical education and training in 16 different career fields to 11th and 12th graders. Students at NEWTech are provided an opportunity to acquire a skillset and an educational experience that sets them apart from their peers and launches them into an exciting career and lifestyle. Students spend one half of each day (morning or afternoon) at NEWTech and the other half at their home high school.

Odyssey at Libby Center (4-8)

Odyssey is a full-time Highly Capable magnet program at Libby Center for fourth through eighth grade students. Students are selected on the basis of academic, intellectual, and creative ability. Information from parents and teachers combined with objective test data determines eligibility. Tessera, a one-day-a-week highly capable program, is available to third through fifth graders.

On Track Academy uses a uniquely personalized approach to education in order to meet the needs of all students. Our Learner Centered Environment offers a tailored plan for each student, always keeping in mind the motto of supporting students to "Create What's Next" for themselves. Students have the opportunity to accelerate their learning and not only graduate on time, but be prepared for success in their chosen T-2-4 Post-Secondary Pathway. Every On Track student has a dedicated advisor who knows them personally, supports them in setting educational and personal goals, and partners with them to achieve those goals.

Ruben Trejo Dual Language Academy (K-8)

Students receive half of their instruction in English and half in Spanish. Learning all subjects in both languages gives students a solid foundation of academic skills to achieve bilingual status at an early age. Launched in 2017 with 50 students and two teachers, this program will grow with 50 new kindergarten students each school year. After kindergarten, there will be few, if any, open seats in the program.

Secondary Transition

Spokane Public Schools' Secondary Transition program is designed for young adults with disabilities ages 18-21 who continue to need transition services beyond 12th grade. The vision of the Secondary Transition program is a world where young adults with disabilities are living as productive, independent, and engaged community members. The mission of the Secondary Transition program is to provide learning opportunities that build vocational, functional, social, and independent living skills.

Spokane Virtual Learning

The Spokane Virtual Learning (SVL) program is a web-based educational opportunity that provides instructor-led online courses to students. All instructors have valid state certification in their subject areas. SVL presents students with an interactive learning experience, not a textbook online. Students experience a personalized learning environment, with most students taking one to three courses online, while remaining enrolled in their home school. Although students can register for full-time SVL, it is not advised except in special circumstances.
