Pandemic EBT is Back

Pandemic EBT is back!  (PEBT 2.0)

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (Pandemic EBT) provides food benefits to Free and Reduced eligible families to replace the meals students would have received if they had attended school in person. Pandemic EBT benefits were issued in May – August of 2020 to replace meals from the 2019–20 school year. Pandemic EBT 2.0 will provide food benefits to replace meals missed during the 2020–21 school year.

Families whose students are on the free & reduced-price meals list for this school year and/or enrolled in a CEP school will be eligible for P-EBT 2.0. Note that these benefits are separate from the meals they may have received during the pandemic, and all students on free & reduced in each school will qualify based on the percentage of days students were in virtual learning at their school site each month.

We encourage families to fill out a meal application each school year not only for the meal benefits, but for other benefits, such as P-EBT or the waiving of ASB or AP test fees, as well. 

 Here's what parents need to do:

  • Sign up for the free & reduced-price meal program if they have not already done so. 
    ⇒ Parents can check for their student’s Free and Reduced meal eligibility at and can print a copy of their letter for other program benefits.
  • Be sure their current address is updated with their student’s schools so that the benefits will be mailed to the right place. (NS can’t change student’s addresses).
