With the addition of three new middle schools, student attendance boundaries will need to be adjusted following the Attendance Boundary Guidelines approved by the school board in the spring of 2018.
SPS is looking for people who are interested in being part of the boundary adjustment process. Committee members will equally represent the Northeast, Northwest and South Hill regions of the district. Any community member, parent or staff member can apply!
The Boundary Adjustment Committee will
- review existing and projected student enrollment and construction timelines
- study and discuss various boundary change scenarios
- analyze the broad range of impacts boundary changes will have
Committee members will meet twice per month in the evenings, from January 2020 through April 2021, to develop draft boundary adjustment options to share with the community. Based on feedback, the committee will do any necessary adjustments and make a final recommendation to the School Board by May of 2021.
