School delay Monday, Jan. 13

Due to weather conditions that have included additional snowfall, some melting, and expected overnight snow and freezing temperatures that will create extremely icy conditions, all Spokane Public Schools will open two hours late, tomorrow, January 13. We are making the decision tonight to give city plows additional time to do their work and give families a little extra time to plan.

Buses will also operate 2 hours late. Last-minute bus number changes to accommodate the weather conditions may impact the accuracy of the bus tracker system tomorrow.

Express childcare begins at 8 am. The high school day will begin at 10 am, elementary at 10:30 am and middle school at 11 am. Zero hour classes, the morning NewTech session, Tessera, and morning programs – including practices, field trips, CAPE, ECEAP AM, and pre-school special ed AM – are cancelled for the day. Neighborhood conditions may vary across the city. Please make sure students dress warmly and that you contact the office at your student’s school if you decide to keep your student home.
