Three studnents hold trophies and wear medals.

Three students in Rogers High School ProStart Culinary Program are Baltimore-bound for the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation National ProStart Invitational competition this weekend!

Juniors Osvaldo Mojica, Larissa Truax, and Hailey Vice placed 1st in Management at the Washington Hospitality Association ProStart Invitational in March for their innovative restaurant concept that blends fine dining with live performances—including Broadway shows, improv, and community theater—all hosted in a historic and possibly haunted venue.

Garth Hicks of Wild Sage Bistro provided industry guidance as the students’ mentor, and their teacher Valkyrie Anderson was also honored as Educator of the Year by the Washington Hospitality Association Education Foundation this year. Oh, and she was Teacher of Month for Spokane Public Schools in November.

With such great support, it’s no surprise that the students’ project was *chef’s kiss*! Good luck, Pirates!

The students were also featured on KREM 2 News.
