A collage of five SPS playgrounds

Thanks to voter support of the 2018 bond, kids at various elementary schools will find new playground equipment or surfaces when they arrive on the first day of school.

School bonds provide funding for large projects like school rebuilds and major renovations, but they also provide funding for smaller school improvement projects at all 60+ buildings in SPS.

This summer, Jefferson, Stevens and Wilson elementaries, as well as Bryant/TEC, received new, soft, all-weather playground surfaces to ensure student safety and more efficient maintenance. In addition, Ridgeview Elementary received a new playground structure thanks to the annual funding from the 2018 bond.

As kids race to recess this year, they'll be greeted with these improvements.
