At recent meetings, two new student advisors to the Spokane Public Schools Board of Directors were sworn in by Board president Nikki Otero Lockwood.
On Track Academy senior Reggie Alba and Rogers senior Marie-Therese Benghaya will both serve during the 2025-26 school year, attending 5-6 school board meetings to provide student perspectives and connecting board information with their peers.
Each year, students apply and are interviewed for consideration to serve a one-year term. The two selected students must be a junior or senior, and attend 5-6 board meetings throughout the year to provide student perspectives to the board and to share information from the board with their student peers.
