A girl sleeps in a bed. Text reads Sleep Tips for Successful Students

WSU College of Nursing’s Dr. Anne Mason, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, shares how a good night’s sleep makes a big difference in a student’s abilities as they participate in academic, social, and extracurricular activities.

Top tip to take away:

  1. Take all the interruptions out of the bedroom and set up a bedtime routine.

  2. Support a calming experience through the evening.

  3. Keep consistent bedtime and consistent wake time.

  4. Kids need to move throughout the day.

Good sleep leads to better learning! We encourage families to support students’ sleep and support their success.
