More than 500 Spokane area high school students gathered at Whitworth University last week for Get Connected, an annual college and career day opportunity organized by the SPS Department of Family and Community Engagement.
Chauncey Jones shared why it’s important for students to connect with a variety of resources and individuals as they consider their futures.
“You get students from diverse backgrounds getting to see people who look like them as professionals ... to have that representation, so you can dream in a color you've never seen before.”
Each year, the conference concludes with talent show of student performances. What a wonderful celebration of student achievement and possibilities for the future!
