Three Ferris High School vocal students sing at a competition.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) and Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) State Solo and Ensemble Contest took place in Ellensburg on April 24 & 25, 2026. This event provides the opportunity for the finest of Washington’s high school music students from our 22 regional contests to move on to the state competition.

In February, 33 performers from Ferris, Lewis and Clark, North Central and Shadle Park high schools qualified for state at our regional Spokane Falls Music Educators Association competition.

  • Ferris High School: The Fates (Soprano/Mezzo/Alto Small Vocal Ensemble)

  • Lewis & Clark High School: Henry Klesch (String Bass Solo)
