Spokane Virtual graduates shake hands as they receive a diploma.

At the Hive last night, 15 graduates of Spokane Virtual Learning received their diplomas with the support of family, staff, and community members.

“You learn how to stay motivated when distractions were anywhere. You learned how to solve problems independently in technology and take ownership of your education. Those are not just skills; those are life skills,” shared guest speaker, Freda Gandy, Executive Director, Martin Luther King Jr. Center.

“The world you are entering is changing faster than ever. Employers value adaptability and communities need innovators. Organizations need leaders who can work independently while remaining connected to others. In many ways, your educational experience has already prepared you for that reality," Gandy said.
