We’re extending the free emergency drop-in camp for children ages 4 and older at Shadle Park High School through Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026. It will run 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, with lunch provided.
Our camps this week will be in partnership with Project Camp, YMCA of the Inland Northwest, Skyhawks and City of Spokane Parks and Recreation.
The Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) will also be open at the school through Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Learn more about the DAC here, and find a range of other resources at spokanecommunityresources.org.
For those in need of business attire for the work week: Spokane Business Association has helped us gather a broad range of donated professional clothing and shoes, which will be available at Shadle Park High School through Wednesday at 6 p.m.
We encourage anyone with physical donations to contact our community partners, such as Salvation Army, for drop off, rather than bringing them to the DAC. We can, however, accept gift cards at the DAC. Gift cards to stores and restaurants in any amount are the most immediately useful item for families impacted by the fires.
Finally, the American Red Cross is setting up mobile reentry stations in neighborhoods clear to return home. Pick up protective equipment and critical information about safely reentering your property. Remember that even if an area looks safe, hazards may still exist.
