"I'm bored!"
If you want to avoid hearing those two words this summer, we have plenty of opportunities that will prevent and cure any summer boredom.
Spokane Public Schools' summer programs are back, and there are lots of ways kids can have fun and learn this summer:
Camp Imagine
This popular camp for rising 1st-5th graders features three week-long camps at five locations. At Camp Imagine this year, campers will transform popular video games into hands-on art projects and exciting STEM challenges, complete missions, unlock creativity, and play beyond the screen!
21st Century Community Learning Center
Spokane Public Schools partners with Communities in Schools Northeast Washington to offer kids activities in STEM, arts, literacy, recreation and off-site field trips. This program is for kids at Bemiss, Cooper, Regal and Stevens elementary schools June 29 - July 23.
Spokane Youth Sports Association (SYSA) Sports Camps
SYSA is a major SPS partner and will offer sports camps in the afternoons at all 21st Century Community Learning Center locations and two Camp Imagine locations. SYSA will offer soccer, speed and agility, volleyball and basketball activities.
Summer Athletic Camps
The five comprehensive SPS high schools will host a plethora of athletic camps open to kids of all ages. Whether it's basketball, softball, volleyball, weights, soccer, cheerleading and more, there's a camp for your student.
NEWTech Summer Academy
If your student will be in high school next year and is interested in various trades programs offered at NEWTech Prep, the Summer Academy will give them a leg up on their peers. Students earn a half credit through this free program that runs June 22 - July 13.
