Garrett Jones and Adam Swinyard present information to an audience of people in a school auditorium.

Last night, community members from Northwest Spokane gathered at Shadle Park High School for a presentation about Together Spokane, an initiative to improve schools, parks and neighborhoods throughout the city.

Spokane Public Schools superintendent Dr. Adam Swinyard and Spokane Parks and Recreation director Garrett Jones discussed the planning and outreach process to develop proposals, how working together and with community partners reduces project costs, and encouraged attendees to look through the list of more than 200 projects to consider if it’s worth the investment or would save their family money through expanded access.

Watch the recording to learn more about a replacement of Madison Elementary to be co-located with an Indoor Recreation Center, expansion of all-weather lighted fields to create tournament-level facilities, an Indoor Tennis Center and and much more.

We are holding one more in-person Town Hall. All are welcome to attend.

South Region Town Hall: Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6-7 p.m. at Ferris High School Commons, 3020 E. 37th Ave.

Please note that due to scheduling constraints, all school communities located in District 2, which includes the Lewis and Clark High School feeder pattern community, will meet for a single presentation at Ferris.
