Children and adults run in a neighborhood together.

“I believed in myself and that’s how I got all the way to here.”

Hutton Elementary School student Harry Flaherty set a personal goal on his 10th birthday in April: to run one mile every day.

We celebrated Harry’s 100th run on July 24 with family and friends participating as well.

He inspired Hutton science teacher Maile McFarland to challenge the entire school to start a new daily habit and track progress over the summer with the Great Hawk Migration.

“Choose something that will help you grow, move or shine,” she encouraged, providing examples for daily growth habits and a Habit Tracker sheet for students to complete during the summer.

Congratulations, Harry, and way to go to all Hutton Hawks who spread their wings with a new habit this summer!
