On Tuesday night, 14 Greater Spokane League slowpitch softball teams lit up the field at Dwight Merkel Sports Complex for the annual Kenny V Classic “Under the Lights” Games.
With crisp fall air and a crowd of energized fans, teams from Rogers, Shadle Park, North Central, Ferris and Lewis and Clark high schools showed up ready to shine in this rare evening showcase.
What an incredible chance for these student athletes to step into the spotlight and wow the crowd!
High school softball players would have more opportunities to practice and play “under the lights” through a Together Spokane proposal to create lighted, all-weather fields to serve our five high school communities in their neighborhood. Proposals to expand Dwight Merkel and develop a Ferris Sports Complex would also allow Spokane to host tournaments for softball, soccer, lacrosse and more. Learn more about Together Spokane.
