Tiger Painting Donation

Tigers – be sure to check out the newest addition to our school walls: a beautiful tiger painting generously donated by Ken Privratsky and Kathy Iverson Privratsky, both LC Class of 1965.

Ken and Kathy were born and raised in Spokane and were high school sweethearts at LC. Both went on to graduate from Eastern Washington University in 1969 and have led remarkable careers.

Ken retired as a Major General after 33 years in the U.S. Army, serving in combat in Vietnam, as an assistant professor at West Point, and commanding organizations at every level. In his final years of service, he oversaw key global logistics operations for the Department of Defense. After the military, he became an executive in the ocean-shipping industry. Ken has earned multiple graduate degrees, received an honorary doctorate from Eastern, and has authored several books, including Logistics in the Falklands War, now recommended reading for U.S. Marines.

Kathy earned a degree in speech pathology and devoted her career to supporting children with communication needs, working across the U.S. and overseas. In Alaska, she provided services to non-speaking children in remote villages and eventually co-founded an agency providing assistive technology services statewide. She has conducted workshops, published articles, and taught at the college level. Kathy earned a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders and also received an honorary doctorate from Eastern.

Ken and Kathy have two daughters and three grandchildren and continue to live in Anchorage, Alaska. They have a shared love of adventure and have walked the Camino de Santiago multiple times, most recently completing it this month to celebrate their lifelong journey together.
