Hello 5th grade families! Below is an invitation from Garry Middle School principal, Adam Oakley. Incoming 6th Grader Family Night! Next Tuesday, June 2nd, from 5:00-6:30pm. We are going to open the doors at 4:45pm. Students will receive a printed copy of their 2026-2027 schedule. They will make their way to the gym for a welcome from myself and our ASB leaders. We will release them from the gym to their 1st period. They will walk the school, assisted by our staff, and have about 5 minutes to see the classroom, meet the teacher, etc. We aren't going to have time for formal presentations or 1:1 conversations, but hopefully an opportunity to meet a friendly face and see the room. Every so often, I will make an announcement and ask students to go to their next class period. We will have our athletic director and some coaches in the Library to assist families in signing up for Final Forms and Fall sports. We will have information on free sports physicals as well. We say goodbye to families around 6:15 or 6:30. Our goals for the evening are to have students get their schedules, meet their teachers and staff, see the school, and get some basic questions asked and answered. We want to lower any anxiety students and families may have prior to heading out for Summer vacation. Any 504 meetings, IEP meetings, schedule changes, and launch conference sign-up will still happen in the fall, but this event should help ease some minds!
