A high school student leads a Dungeons & Dragons game with elementary students in a classroom.

Gabriella, also known as Abby, a soon-to-be graduate of The Community School, shares how project-based learning allowed her to find her passions.

For the last two years, she has split her days at TCS and at NEWTech Prep, studying Culinary Arts. She also regularly volunteers at Spokane Public Montessori, where her mom teaches and where she attended elementary and middle school, to lead educational Dungeons & Dragons games for younger students.

“I'm hoping I'm setting a good example for them to bring your passions into what you want to do," Abby shared.

She plans to attend North Idaho College for their Sous Chef Apprenticeship Program.

We love hearing about how these unique Option schools and programs supported students like Abby on their educational journeys.
