Earlier this month, about fifty juniors from seven SPS high schools gathered at NEWESD 101 for a day of learning and encouragement as they considered opportunities for their futures at the fourth annual Young Women’s Summit.
Keynote speaker and Rogers teacher Jaime Stacy shared insights on developing a strong identity, building confidence, and fostering healthy relationships. She was joined by a panel of local women who discussed their professional journeys and shared strategies for overcoming challenges before joining student roundtables to connect personally with the students.

Following lunch, catered by NEWTech Prep Culinary Arts students, artist Tracy Poindexter-Canton led a self portrait painting exercise. Students then created vision boards to help them reflect on the day’s learning and stay focused on achieving their dreams.
