Last night, community members from Northeast Spokane gathered at Rogers High School for a presentation about Together Spokane, an initiative to improve schools, parks and neighborhoods throughout the city.

Spokane Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Adam Swinyard and Spokane Parks and Recreation Director Garrett Jones discussed the planning and outreach process to develop proposals, how working together and with community partners reduces project costs, and encouraged attendees to look through the list of more than 200 projects to consider if it’s worth the investment or would save their family money through expanded access.

Watch the recording to learn more about a new Trades High School, modernization of Garry Middle School, Indoor Aquatics Center, new Shiloh Hills Park, and much more.

We are holding three more presentations in different regions of the city. Presentations will focus on projects proposed within these neighborhoods. All are welcome to attend any town hall that fits their schedule.

Central Region Town Hall: Tuesday, Sept. 23, 6-7 p.m. at North Central High School Commons, 1600 N. Howard St.

Northwest Region Town Hall: Tuesday, Sept. 30, 6-7 p.m. at Shadle Park High School Commons, 4327 N. Ash St.

South Region Town Hall: Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6-7 p.m. at Ferris High School Commons, 3020 E. 37th Ave.

Please note that due to scheduling constraints, all school communities located in District 2, which includes the Lewis and Clark High School feeder pattern community will meet for a single presentation at Ferris.
