Seven Black teenagers pose on a stage under a banner for Spokane Black Voices.

Last week, poetry, essays, and artwork by students from Salk Middle School, Shadle Park, Lewis and Clark, and Rogers high schools were featured in The Black Lens and The Spokesman-Review for the fifth annual Spokane Black Voices issue. This year’s theme was “Art as Activism: Seasons, Cycles and Finding Your Destiny.”

Thank you to these students for sharing their perspectives with our community!
