Thank you, Spokane.

Following last night’s initial results of more than 59% approval, it’s clear that voters have supported Spokane Public Schools’ replacement EP&O levy, continuing our community's longstanding investment in students and schools.

“I believe this vote reflects what our community sees every day in our schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Adam Swinyard. "We have achieved record high graduation rates, along with many other academic highlights, and we continue to expand opportunities for students to engage in real life through activities, athletics, arts, clubs, and other experiences that help young people connect, belong, and thrive.”

Today, nearly two-thirds of SPS students participate in extracurricular activities, more than 90% graduate on time, and nearly three in four graduates participate in college credit eligible courses or career preparation opportunities before leaving high school. Last year, students also took more than 3,500 AP exams, with nearly 74% earning qualifying scores.

Local levy dollars help provide the academics, activities and supports that make a well-rounded education possible.

We're grateful for our community's continued support as we work to create more opportunities and access, ensuring every student can reach for their dream.
