Flett Riverhawks!
We have loved reconnecting with returning students and meeting many new students and their families during Launch Conferences. We see education as a partnership, so we really value these opportunities to connect. If you and your student were not able to attend a conference, we have a plan to help them get to class and get their schedules. No need to worry!
Typically, many parents choose to drop students off the first few days of school so know that drop-off lines and parking lots will be congested. We encourage you to say your goodbyes and well wishes before arriving on campus so you can quickly drop off students and keep the line flowing. =) Here is a drop off map if needed. Parent & Bus Pick-Up / Pick-Up & Drop-Off (spokaneschools.org). Note, feel free to use the event parking lot to drop off this first few weeks as the parent loop will be at capacity.
Speaking of transportation, if you’ve registered for a bus, you should be getting details this weekend. Bus drop-offs are being finalized as students continue to register during launch conferences.
A few reminders:
- Fall sports begin the first day of school. It isn’t too late to register! Click here.
- Drop-off time is 8:40 this year (9:40 on Mondays starting 9/11) and that is when supervision begins and breakfast is served. Please do not drop off students prior to this time.
- We do not use lockers at most SPS middle schools. We allowed some students to check out lockers last year and they rarely needed or used them! This reduced travel time and tardys. Students may be granted a locker for unique circumstances beginning 10/1. Please contact the office if your child has a unique circumstance.

- Lunch and breakfast are free for all students
- Yearbooks are on sale; purchase here for a reduced price!
- Now that each student has their own computer, cell phones are not permitted. Student cell phones and connected smart watches need to be placed in backpacks before entering the school building. Cell phones are not allowed at lunch, as we want to promote positive, face-to-face social interaction. Please help Flett teachers by reminding students that phones need to be off and put away. If you need to connect with your student during the day, our office is happy to connect families with their student.
