Last week, the Rogers High School Leadership Class hosted the 3rd Annual Regional People First Dance for Student First Clubs in Spokane County!
With music, dancing, and karaoke, the event aimed to foster connections, joy and a strong sense of community among students of all abilities. Surrounded by colorful decorations, upbeat music, and plenty of smiles, the dance was a heartwarming success and a testament to the spirit of unity and acceptance championed by People First of Washington.
The organization’s Student First Clubs are developed within high school and transition programs. They work with students who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them develop leadership skills and to demonstrate the importance of self-advocacy and self-determination.
Thanks to all the volunteers, staff and attendees who made this day so special. And big thanks to the Rogers Boosters for providing pizza, popcorn and water at the event!
