Annual HEART Gift Card Drive: Nov. 17 - Dec. 8, 2025
Every student deserves to feel at home in our learning community. As of Nov. 13, 2025, 1,172 students in our district lack stable housing, including 260 unaccompanied youth who are not staying with a legal parent or guardian.
For over 10 years, SPS has collected donated gift cards for unaccompanied youth before Winter Break. Grocery and box store cards are most requested to help students buy clothes, food, or gifts for others. Gift card donations in any amount can make a difference in a student's life.
How to Donate:
Drop off or mail gift cards to the SPS Administration building (200 N. Bernard St., Spokane WA, 99201, c/o Communications Dept).
Bring a gift card to your neighborhood SPS school office.
Donate online to the HEART Trust (“select HEART Program Donations”).
Share this information about the HEART Gift Card Drive with your community! If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, please send a message through Let’s Talk.
Donations received by Dec. 8 will be distributed to students before Winter Break begins. Donations received after Dec. 8 will be distributed throughout the school year to provide continual support of students.
The HEART program strives to ensures that students have all the resources they need to fully engage and succeed in school. Many items are provided directly through schools, but some items — like soccer cleats, yearbooks, journals, and shoes — are not. Our HEART Trust account provides for things above and beyond a student's basic educational needs.
⇒ Make a donation online by selecting “HEART Program Donations” from the "Item" dropdown menu.
