  • 2015 - 2016 PTO Board ELECTIONS!

    At our next PTO Open Meeting we will be electing the PTO Board for the 2014-2015 school year. All board positions are available for nomination… and WE NEED YOU! Please consider running for ONE of the positions, see position descriptions HERE and download the "PTO Candidate Bio"

    Even if you are unable to serve on the PTO Board next year, please come to the next PTO Open Meeting on May 12th to help elect your 2015-2016 Finch PTO Board! 


    "Who can run for a PTO Board position for the 2015-2016 school year?"... If you have a child attending Finch Elementary School or are an employed staff member, then YOU are a member of the PTO and are eligible to run for a Board position.

    "How will we know who is running for what position?"… Your current Board will post a link to all nominations on our Facebook page (, watch for an "In the Loop" email from, visit our school website at AND there will also be copies of all the submitted candidate forms in the PTO Election Binder located in our PTO/Community room! 

    "Why are we holding an election for the 2015-2016 school year NOW?"… Once elections are completed on May 12th your newly elected Board will be able to shadow the current Board and "learn the ropes" NOW! This will allow them to begin planning for an amazing and successful 2015-2016 school year. 

    Anyone who volunteers, whether in their child’s class or for the PTO, is appreciated and plays a vital role in our Mustangs’ education and in our community… THANK YOU for your participation in shaping the next generation!

  • Books For Bikes!

    Books for bikes reading recognition program is being co-sponsored by the Audubon Park Masonic Lodge #272 and our Finch PTO.
    It begins 4/1/15 and the bike giveaways will be 5/15/15. We will be giving away four bikes, two at primary level and two at intermediate level.

  • Kindergarten Registration Starts March 2

    Families with students who will be 5 on or before Aug. 31 take note: It’s time to register for kindergarten! Spokane Public Schools is eager to welcome new students to the SPS family. To help kindergarteners get excited about school, SPS provides each with a special, brightly colored tote filled with educational activities that families can work on together.

    Kindergarten registration will begin on March 2. Families can register at their neighborhood elementary school weekdays between 8:15 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Please bring a birth certificate or other verification of age and the student’s immunization records.

    Early Entrance to Kindergarten: Children who turn 5 between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 may be conditionally enrolled in kindergarten for up to 30 days after a successful prescreen assessment. Contact Student Support Services at 354-7393 with additional questions or to schedule a prescreen prior to the start of school.

    DreamBox is PreK-8 math solution driven by a technology that's as unique as the students and educators who need it, love it, and use it to go to the next level.  All students in Finch Elementary have access to this math instructional program.  Classroom teachers have the usernames and passwords for the students in their classroom.
