School Counseling Services
My Name is Jacquie Bernbaum, and I have worked as a school counselor for Spokane Public Schools since 1991. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping students build confidence, whether working through conflict or dealing with other social/emotional issues. At Moran Prairie Elementary, we are truly blessed to have a fabulous community of staff, students and parents working together for the success of our students.
I have a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Gonzaga University as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. I have had the privilege of serving on many committees in the course of my career, including the Critical Incident Team (CRISIS TEAM) for Spokane Public Schools, the Eastern Washington University Professional Education Advisory Board (PEAB), and the Spokane Area Child Protective Team (CPT), all of which have allowed me to work with other like professionals regarding the well-being of children in the Spokane community. The last sixteen years, I have taught continuing education classes to other educators throughout the Pacific Northwest on a diverse group of topics. All-in-all, I have been extremely blessed to love what I do and to have enjoyed so many aspects of impacting students' lives.
After being widowed for 8 years, I recently remarried. My husband and I enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as reading, traveling, hiking and cheering on the Cleveland Browns!
