Flett Flash 10/18/22

  • Flett Families ~

We have had a full and rewarding past few weeks. Our League of Four House Reveal was an awesome community-building day. Our staff went all out to make sure the day was special. Our houses are different from our neighborhood structure—where a group of students shares the same four core teachers. Learn more about the League of Four here. While both help build community and support students socially, they are unique strategies. At Flett, we are committed to helping each student connect with one another and with staff.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Dedication Ceremony and all those who attended our Open House. It was rewarding to show the school to the Flett family and the community at-large. We are so thankful to the Spokane community for supporting our schools. Here is a video that we contracted with KSPS to develop for the dedication. Speaking of connections, despite being smaller than our competitors, our sports teams have been doing well and having a great time along the way. Congrats to our fall sports teams and thanks to our parents and coaches for your support! You can check out our full sports calendar on our website. WIIA rules limit 6th-grade involvement, but we are planning to offer clubs and sports for 6th-graders as well. Volleyball will need to be closer to the spring, for example, when we have gym space. We also hope to have some non-sports club offerings soon. If you’re interested in coaching or leading a club, please contact our Athletics Coordinator, Sarah Goodey at SarahGo@spokaneschools.org. As a reminder, while students are encouraged to come to cheer on their classmates at after-school sporting events, middle school students must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Stay in the know by following us on our social media channels and our website.
