Flett Flash 10/31/22

Flett Community,
In an earlier Flett Flash we shared the benefits of waiting until at least 8th grade to have a smart phone and allow students to engage with various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok. We wanted to share a link to a recent webinar that Spokane Public Schools, Mead School District, and the regional Educational Service District held on the effects of social medial. It includes tips how to connect with your student on setting boundaries.
The webinar is about an hour. Below are some additional links pulled together by SPS. At Flett we embrace technology and want to empower our youth to be wise consumers and users of technology and software. We also know our students still need strong boundaries with these emerging technologies we didn't all grow up using.
