Welcome to Franklin!

  • It’s been a fantastic summer and we hope that you have had opportunities to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. We’re very excited for the start of another school year! Our passion is to work with each individual student as we help them grow and learn during their time at Franklin Elementary.

This year, our theme at Franklin Elementary is Choose Kind. We absolutely want to help students grow in their academics but we also want to make sure that they know how to apply that knowledge. One way in which we’ll do that this year is to focus on Choosing Kind. Teachers and staff throughout the building and throughout the year will be working with students on how they can be kind to those around them and how those actions can change the world we live in.

As always, please do not hesitate to stop by my office or pull me aside as you see me around school. I enjoy getting to know Franklin families and am convinced that you are one of the most important reasons that Franklin Elementary is the best school in the city!

Have a great day, choose to be kind and remember that the choice is always yours!

    Respectfully,

    Buz Hollingsworth
    Principal

  • Our Mission

The Franklin mission is to support each child’s academic journey as a confident, respectful, and independent learner. We strive to develop a love of learning, an appreciation of individual differences, and an understanding of socially responsible behavior that will serve as a foundation for Franklin students for the rest of their lives.

  • Our Beliefs

    • We believe students experience a higher level of learning when they are empowered. Therefore, we put decision-making and goal-setting in the hands of students whenever possible, in developmentally appropriate ways.
    • We believe in a dynamic, collaborative teaching model. Therefore we make time to collaborate with colleagues as we evaluate and analyze student data. The resulting information helps us refine our practices to meet student needs and improve learning.
