• Grammar is taught through a variety of means: entry task, direct-teacher instruction, student independent work, and spur of the moment opportunities.
• Vocabulary is taught through the district's vocabulary program WRSLmania as well as through text we read.
• In 8th grade, 100 root words will be taught throughout the year and students will be tested on these roots.
• Students are expected to write at a greater sophistication than they speak hence our use of thesauri.
• And yes, spelling does count!
