    We hope you and your child are having a wonderful summer!  We are very excited for the new school year to begin on Wednesday, September 3rd at 8:30AM.

    Classroom Assignments
    Our staff has worked very hard to create balanced classes to meet the needs of all students at Finch Elementary.  All class placements are final at this time and will be posted in the school's court yard windows on Friday, August 15th . 

    Open House
    We hope your family can join us at our Open House on Thursday, August 28th

            Camp Finch Westview
                Grades 1-2 from 5:30-6:30PM
                Grades 3-4 from 6:30-7:30PM                

            Camp Finch Woodridge:
                Grades 5-6 at 4:00-4:45PM or 5:15-6:00PM
                August 27th from 6:00-7:30
                More information will be send home the week of August 18th.
    We look forward to helping your child develop the skills needed to achieve their fullest potential and accomplish the dreams of their future.

  • Language Immersion Programs

    We are considering adding two language immersion programs to our district's portfolio of options for the 2015/2016 school year. In order to understand the desires of the community, we have put together a survey that we would like your help in distributing. Our target audience is PreK-2 families, as the programs would start with kindergarten and add a grade level each year.

  • 2014 - 2015 PTO Board ELECTIONS!

    At our next PTO Open Meeting we will be electing the PTO Board for the 2014-2015 school year. All board positions are available for nomination… and WE NEED YOU! Please consider running for ONE of the positions, see position descriptions HERE and download the “PTO Candidate Bio” PTO Candidate Bio. A hard copy of the form will be sent home with your child SOON! 

    PLEASE RETURN PTO Candidate BIO form BY APRIL 23rd!

    Even if you are unable to serve on the PTO Board next year, please come to the next PTO Open Meeting on May 1st to help elect your 2014-2015 Finch PTO Board! 

    “Who can run for a PTO Board position for the 2014-2015 school year?”... If you have a child attending Finch Elementary School or are an employed staff member, then YOU are a member of the PTO and are eligible to run for a Board position.

    “How will we know who is running for what position?”… Your current Board will post a link to all nominations on our Facebook page (, watch for an “In the Loop” email from, visit our school website at AND there will also be copies of all the submitted canditate forms in the Camp Finch Westview office! 

    “Why are we holding an election for the 2014-2015 school year NOW?”… Once elections are completed on May 1st your newly elected Board will be able to shadow the current Board and “learn the ropes” NOW! This will allow them to begin planning for an amazing and successful 2014-2015 school year. 

    Anyone who volunteers, whether in their child’s class or for the PTO, is appreciated and plays a vital role in our Mustangs’ education and in our community… THANK YOU for your participation in shaping the next generation!

    Finch Commemorative Brick Pavers NOW ON SALE!!

    Finch Elementary Parent teacher Organization is selling 4x8-inch brick pavers that will be personalized and placed in the newly renovated John A. Finch Elementary School courtyard in the spring of 2014. The net proceeds of the paver fundraiser will go into to the Finch technology fund.

    The brick pavers can be personalized to remember students, teachers, businesses, special occasions, family members, or other special people.

    Each personalized brick is $40 if ordered before April 15, and $80 after that date. There is a limited quantity available.
