Grand Reopening

  • Sent December 12, 2014 @ 5:26PM

    Good Evening Finch Elementary Community.

This is Principal Joachim calling to remind you that school will be dismissed at 12:30 all next week.  The teachers and staff at Finch greatly appreciate all the families who scheduled their parent teacher conferences early to allow teachers more time to set up their classrooms at Finch.

The new school is looking absolutely amazing.  We look forward to our first day of school in the building on January 5th.  Please be on the look out for a move-in flier next week.  This informational flier will provide information out our grand reopening ceremonies, controlled access point, student arrival and pickup and desired traffic patterns.

Additional information will be posted on the school website and PTO’s facebook page.

    Have a great weekend!"

  • Finch Construction Update

It is almost time to move back into the “Real Finch!”  We will be back in our building when we return from Christmas break on January 5th.  To help our staff be able to move into their new classrooms, we will be hosting parent/teacher conferences over a two week time period.  This will let teachers schedule conferences earlier to give them our 1/2 days to move.

  • "THIS IS FINCH" Rake and Run
Rake and Run 2014 was a huge success!  On Thursday    October 30th, numerous classes from our Westview campus descended upon the neighborhood to spread some random acts of kindness.  Classes raked and bagged leaves for unsuspecting neighbors, leaving a note that said “You’ve been raked by the Fabulous kids at Finch Elementary”.  Thank you to Ms. Sullivan for organizing this service project!

  • DreamBox
DreamBox is PreK-8 math solution driven by a technology that's as unique as the students and educators who need it, love it, and use it to go to the next level.  All students in Finch Elementary have access to this math instructional program.  Classroom teachers have the usernames and passwords for the students in their classroom.

  • Language Immersion Programs

We are considering adding two language immersion programs to our district's portfolio of options for the 2015/2016 school year. In order to understand the desires of the community, we have put together a survey that we would like your help in distributing. Our target audience is PreK-2 families, as the programs would start with kindergarten and add a grade level each year.

The link to the survey is below.....we value your input!
