    TREBLE CHOIR

    Non-auditioned, entrance choir for incoming freshmen-level treble voices. Students will sing literature of appropriate quality and difficulty for this age group as identified by national and state organizations. Students will perform repertoire from various languages, cultures, and time periods while learning the fundamentals of choral singing such as music theory, aural skills, and sight-reading.

     

    FRONTIERSMEN

    Non-auditioned, entrance choir for changed male voices. Students will sing literature of appropriate quality and difficulty for this age group as identified by national and state organizations. Students will perform repertoire from various languages, cultures, and time periods while learning the fundamentals of choral singing such as music theory, aural skills, and sight-reading. This class is held during Zero Hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the choir room.

     

    CONCERT CHORALE

    Auditioned a cappella/accompanied choir. This choir performs music ranging from 16th century to the present. This choir is highly selective and represents the program during cons and events, which requires an annual commitment from its members. Students in this choir will finesse all points of musicianship skills here.

     

    CANTABILE

    Sophomore year-level and above auditioned treble-voiced choir. The choir revolves around accompanied and a cappella music. This choir maintains a strong focus on team building and heightening musicianship including elements of music theory, aural skills, and sight-reading. This choir requires an annual commitment from its members.

     

    4TH & STEVENS

    Auditioned jazz choir. This choir is the most selective, and delves into the genre of jazz, blues, and pop tunes from the 19th century to the present. 4th & Stevens also carols in the month of December. There is a co-requisite for this course: Students enrolled in 4th & Stevens must be enrolled in another music course at LC (choir, band, or orchestra). This class is held during Monday/Wednesday/Friday during Zero Hour.
