Did you know that we have some beautiful trees in front of our school? We frequently get phone calls asking what they are. The Rising Sun Redbud or Cercis canadensis is a rounded tree with multiple seasons of interest. Pale pink pea-like flowers grow in clusters for several weeks in the spring before the dramatic foliage emerges. The heart-shaped leaves begin as bright orange peach and age through shades of orange, gold, yellow, and speckled lime. Next time you drive or walk by, enjoy the beauty of our trees.
