When does registration begin for the next school year?

Registration for families and incoming kindergarten students typically begins at the end of May or beginning of June. Please check back for announcement of specific dates.

I have more than one child. Do I receive a discount?

There is a 15% sibling discount on each additional child in the family for the school year only. There is no discount for break programs.

Is breakfast included in the Express program?

It is not included, with the exception of preschool. Children do have access to the breakfast program at their school or at the Express site but must have funds in their "My School Bucks" account.

Do you have child care available for breaks?

We offer registration for Spring Break programs at one or two sites for current Express children. Hours are from 6:30 am to 6 pm.  Children need to bring a sack lunch as kitchens are closed during breaks. A Summer Express program is also offered.

Do I pay less for months with holidays or teacher planning/learning improvement days?

We calculate the charge for care provided during the 180 school day calendar.  Since on average there are 4 weeks per month and 5 days per week, we approximate that there are on average 20 days per month.  Dividing 180 school days by the 20 days per month results in 9 months (or payments) for the school year.  Since school operates from September until June (total of 10 months) we discount December and April by 25% and June by 50%.

If I withdraw and return later in the school year, do I have to pay the registration fee again?

If your child is withdrawn and returns more than sixty days later, another registration fee will be charged.

What happens during early dismissal for conference weeks?

Your child care begins when school is released on the afternoons that you are already contracted at no additional charge. For PMs not contracted, a sign-up sheet will be available at your site if there are openings.  Extra usage fees will apply. 

How can I make a schedule change?

All schedule change requests must be received in writing, that can be as simple as an email to expressbilling@spokaneschools.org. Schedule change requests received by the 23rd of the month will take effect the following month as long as space is available.

How do I withdraw my child(ren)?

We require 10 business days' notice for withdrawal. The notice must be in writing, that can be as simple as an email to expressbilling@spokaneschools.org.

How do I add or remove and Authorized Pick Up (APU) person?

To add or remove an APU email a request to expressbilling@spokaneschools.org. Include the child's name and Express location as well as the first and last name of the APU.

How do I get a summary of my child care payments for tax purposes?

Payment Summary Statements are emailed in January. If you haven't received yours, please call the billing office at 354-7312 or expressbilling@spokaneschools.org.
