• Greetings, Riverhawks!

The excitement and energy during Friday’s League of Four House Reveal was palpable! Students were inducted into their House and greeted by current house members by running through a human tunnel up into their bleacher section. Students then learned their House chants and handshakes before participating in a number of House competitions. While we have four Houses, we are One Family at Flett! Our House System is in place to help build community at Flett.

Speaking of community, I would like to personally invite you to attend two upcoming parent nights here at Flett. They are part of our school’s effort to grow and learn and better listen to each other, including you, our students’ parents and guardians. Building Bridges to Beloved Community is a series of three interactive and engaging 75-minute trainings (two for staff, two for parents). These trainings provide an opportunity to bring school staffs and their student families together to have conversations about how to talk about race and difference. The first session for families is on 10/19 at 6:30 at Flett. The final session is 11/2 from 4:30-6:00 at Flett and includes both staff and parents. During this session, we come together over a shared meal to learn and hear from one another. We really look forward to this shared learning experience. We're hoping for a big turnout so please mark your calendars!
