Our Mission and Philosophy

  • At Shadle Park High School, our goal is to ensure that EVERY student graduates on time and with the skillset, mindset, and habits to be OPPORTUNITY READY in a 21st century world. In order to achieve our goal, we are committed to working daily as a school community to ensure that EVERY student is CHALLENGED, SUPPORTED, and CARED FOR in all three phases of student life - Academically, Socially, and Emotionally - in the process of becoming the BEST version of themselves.

    As a School Counseling Team, we believe ALL STUDENTS

    • Have equal access to every support and resource available through a comprehensive school counseling program
    • Have have the capacity to learn and be supported academically, socially, and emotionally
    • Can develop the skills necessary for academic success, personal growth, positive interpersonal skills, and to create an individualized High School and Beyond Plan
    • Are capable of learning and growing

    The Shadle Park High School Counseling Program

    • Is planned and coordinated by state-certified, masters degree level school counselors in collaboration with other representatives of the school community
    • Engages students in classroom, group and individual activities to enhance student learning
    • Provides the opprtunity for academic, college and career, and personal/social development for all students
    • Uses data to identify student needs and develop program goals to meet these needs
    • Collaborates with community, parents, and other school representatives as a team to deliver program services effectively and efficiently
