Chamber Choir

  • The Chamber Choir is a small group of advanced students that strive to perform challenging and diverse musical selections. Students use advanced sight reading and music theory skills to advance their musicianship and learn new selections at a quick pace. If the music is not mastered in class, students are expected to practice or memorize music at home. Failure to keep pace with the class will be evaluated by Ms. Cammarano and addressed at semester. Students in Chamber Choir are expected to help promote and advance the choir program. Throughout the year, this ensemble will sing at school assemblies, evening events, special outings, contests, and festivals. It is challenging and demanding, but manageable a rewarding! This is a close-knit group of students and success is achieved when all students are comfortable with each other, can support one another, and can hold each other accountable.

Because this class meets during zero-hour and due to the advanced nature of the class, preferential enrollment will be granted to students who are also singing in Highlander Chorale or Treble Tempos. If this is not possible, students might still be asked to learn Highlander Chorale music so that they can sing with that ensemble in concert.

This is an audition-only group. Students can audition for Chamber Choir in the fall and spring. Please see Ms. Camm for more info about this! It's a very easy audition and you will not be asked to sing by yourself. If you are interested, please contact her as soon as possible so she can get you the audition information. staciac@spokaneschools.org or see her in A107.

This year, Chamber Choir will sing in four concerts, participate in Small Group Festival in the fall, compete at Solo and Ensemble in the winter, go caroling with middle school groups, sing at multiple assemblies and school events, and potentionally join Highlander Chorale on their spring tour to Spokane Valley, Idaho, and the Silverwood 'Music in the Parks' competition.
